To keep up with the latest in design, we visited this year’s Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone in Milan, Italy. Both fairs offered a rich programme of events, installations and launches. From 7 to 12 June 2022, the fair celebrated its 60th anniversary with focus on creativity and innovation. Large emphasis has been put on sustainability by using eco-friendly materials and repurposing installations.
In interior design for 2022, minimally furnished open spaces with the use of neutral, gentle colors are indispensable, especially when decorating luxury villas in Istria. These neutral colors allow the addition of décor details that depict personality and give vitality to the space. Eccentric accessories such as designer furniture, unusual decorations, or interesting carpets can give a home an element of surprise, but also personality.
Fuorisalone (commonly referred to as Milan Design Week) showcases the latest contemporary design throughout the city’s central neighbourhoods. This is the most exciting time to be in Milan: historical palazzos open their eclectic interiors to the work of emerging design talent, showrooms showcase the latest launches and everywhere you turn, there is something new to see and experience.
