During the summer season, Poreč comes to life. Monumental heritage is combined with modern arts and more than 30 concerts, exhibitions, guest appearances and numerous other interesting events are held in just a few months. Believe us, there are not too many cities with such a superb combination of entertainment and artistic values for tourists.
Here are some events that we recommend:
Jazz in Lap – every Wednesday during July and August top jazz concerts are held in the lapidarium of the Native Museum of Poreština. Entrance is free! Visit that cultural place and feel the blend of classical and modern jazz with all its variations from swing and blues to ethno, funky and acid jazz which will give hot summer nights a refreshing note. The program starts at 9 p.m.
Concerts in Euphrasiana – For the last 59 years, the University of Porec has proudly presented a festival of classical music in the historical endowment Euphrasian Basilica called “Concerts in Euphrasiana”. Carefully selected concerts and renowned artists will perform works by Croatian and international composers with an emphasis on the integrity and importance of this UNESCO protected cultural monument, bringing only the finest arts together.
23.Street Art – It has an open form and includes all forms of artistic expression, from musical and stage performances and art projects to street acrobatics and performances. The points of the festival amaze, laugh, surprise, sometimes confuse, but are always guaranteed to interest and entertain the Porec and tourist audiences. During Street Art Poreč, every area of the city can become a stage, every building or monument a backdrop, and every passer-by an interested observer, even a participant.
63rd Annale – Poreč Annale is the oldest Croatian group exhibition of contemporary visual arts, taking place every year since 1961 with the aim of presenting the latest trends in the visual arts scene in Croatia and worldwide. It usually takes place at the Istrian Parliament Hall, a building of historic importance serving as a venue for exhibitions and multimedia events. It is held from July 13 to September 17.
