The Ferenčić family has been producing soft drinks since 1924, and the drink that made them famous is definitely Pashareta, Pašareta or Pasareta.
We believe that everyone has a favorite drink from their childhood that evokes a wave of emotions and nostalgia just by mentioning it. Pashareta has been doing this for years to Istranians and guests who have tried this non-alcoholic retro sensation.
A simple recipe, sugar, water and fruit aromas, found its way to a wide audience, so it is a frequent scene in cafes throughout Istria that Pashareta is found on almost every table and in greater numbers than popular world brands.
Pashareta has long acquired cult status, and is rightfully considered one of the symbols of the largest Croatian peninsula. Although after so many years he is still ‘illegal’, without expensive advertising campaigns or posters popping up everywhere, Pashareta finds his way to new fans by word of mouth, which can best be seen on social networks.
So we find out that some people have no problem carrying their supplies of Pashareta all the way to New York, or that some panic if they only have five bottles of ‘red treasure’ in the fridge and have to go shopping because they are afraid they won’t have anything to offer their guests.
All of this is a great recommendation for you to remember Pashareta when you’re vacationing somewhere in Istria. You’ll be able to say that you’ve ‘tasted’ the original Istria, as it once was and, hopefully, will be again.
