Ivan Lendl and Pat Cash, two-time Grand Slam champions in tennis, served as the leaders of two teams that competed at Legends Team Cup – ATP Champions Tour. The tournament took place at Pula Amphitheatre over the course of three days between August 1st and 3rd. The tournament in Pula represented just the beginning of a tour that will end with a grand finale in Dubai.
The official teams led by Lendl and Cash featured 8 more player, all top Grand Slam, Davis Cup or top ranked ATP players. Team Lendl: David Ferrer, Tommy Haas, Lleyton Hewitt and Radek Štěpánek and team Cash: Marcos Baghdatis, Tomas Berdych, David Nalbandian and Tommy Robredo.
The overall result after three days is 12:6 for Team Lendl, which was achieved by each match bringing a certain number of points. One point on the first day, three points on the second day and three points on the third day. Three matches were played every day and the last day was entered with the advantage of Tim Lendl 6:3.
The winning team won a whooping 250,000 euros and the prize at the Dubai finale will be doubled. But nothing is more memorable than the tournament taking place at such a historic sight as the Pula Arena.
