The VIA ISTRA smart card is a modern digital tourist product with numerous benefits for lovers of Istria. One-day, three-day, and seven-day cards are available, allowing both inhabitants and visitors of the Istrian peninsula to more easily use public transportation and visit cultural and historical sites.
Tourist cards can be purchased online through the web platform. The daily card primarily covers the Pula area, while the three-day and weekly cards include the wider Istrian area.
All three packages offer unlimited travel by Croatian Railways (HŽ) train on the route Pula – Buzet and free rides on all Pulapromet bus lines in Pula and the surrounding area. In addition to transportation, users can visit numerous attractions in the package price during the validity period of the card, which begins with the first use of the service.
With the daily card, visitors can see the sights of Pula: the Arena, the Temple of Augustus, the Zerostrasse underground tunnels, the Kastel and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Istria.
With a three-day card, you can go on a tour of Istria: to the Morosini – Grimani Castle in Svetvinčent, the Visitor Center in Barban, the Ethnographic Museum of Istria and the Museum of the City of Pazin in Pazin, the National Museum in Labin. The three-day card includes the Pula Airport shuttle bus for the transfer of air guests and the public bicycle system in Medulin, Fažana, Umag and Pazin.
The weekly card covers an even wider area and additionally includes a tour of the Ecomuseum of Batan in Rovinj, the Walls and Five Towers Gallery in Motovun, the Lapidarium Museum in Novigrad.
The introduction of the VIA ISTRA card encourages the use of public transport, as well as the mobility of passengers and the combination of higher types of transport, i.e. multimodality, which should also contribute to the relief of car traffic.
